What you’ll do: The incumbent will provide electronic engineering design expertise during the development of Electromechanical systems. Tasks will include managing electronic hardware requirements, developing circuit architectures, perform circuit modeling and analysis, building prototype electronic circuits, developing requirement-based test cases and test procedures, performing formal circuit verification, and providing troubleshooting oversight for electronics-based motor control products. Develop requirement specifications for printed wiring assemblies and electronic components. Perform electronic hardware development tasks like functional decomposition of requirements, creation of architectural block diagram, component selection, detail circuit design, and worst-case circuit analysis, test case and test procedure development, and formal circuit performance verification to ensure compliance to all performance and environmental requirements. Design operational amplifier and comparator circuits, sensor interface circuits, inverter circuits for high voltage and high-power motor drives, buck and flyback topology power supplies, voltage and current sensing circuits, etc. Model and analyze electronic circuits using tools such as PSpice and MatLab/Simulink. Perform failure analysis, root cause determination, and corrective action implementation. Research, recommend, innovate, architect, and evaluate new electronic technology and designs. Manage assigned tasks to schedule and budget. Work with mechanical, electrical, software, firmware, test, and specialty engineers to develop products. Basic (Required) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution Minimum of two (2) years of design engineering experience. Must be U.S. person within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future. Preferred Qualifications: Circuit design experience Electronic circuit design and verification experience Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with suppliers and offshore resources are essential. Ability to develop productive working relationships with functions and organizations outside of Engineering. Travel up to 10%.
