Job Responsibilities: Leads and develop team of HSE Supervisors and Liaisons (direct reports). Drives compliance to the Hydro Critical 9 program. Oversees the work of the plant resources who have responsibility for each Critical 9 element. Strong shop floor presence is crucial. Spends 75% of the day on the shop floor to cultivate and maintain relationships with Managers, Supervisors and Team Members to drive HSE compliance. Promotes the idea that safety is not owned by the HSE organization, but by plant supervisors and department managers who hold their employees accountable for taking less risk. Maintains compliance to all OSHA (region and Federal), the EPA, the state environmental agency, and other applicable regulatory standards for the site. Develops relationships with local agency representatives. Identify, develop and implement programs that focuses on the reduction in total recordable injuries, first aids, minor injuries, and environmental incidents. Collaborates with the Management Systems Team to support the ISO 45001 (Health & Safety) and ISO 14001 (Environmental) standards. Performs and / support internal, third party and other Business Unit / Area audits as applicable. Works to implement effective corrective actions resulting from audit findings. Provides support and documentation necessary within the Worker’s Compensation program for the site. Facilitates training at the site for HSE topics as needed (new employee, refresher) and manages content of the training as needed. Any other responsibility not listed. Required Education/Experience: Associates degree in Health, Safety and Environment. Prefer a Bachelor’s degree in Health, Safety and Environment. Experience may be considered in lieu of education. Three (3) years minimum experience as an HSE Manager in a medium to heavy industrial / manufacturing environment. Professional designations such as but not limited to Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Occupational Safety and Health Officer (COSHO) highly desired. Fluency in English is a minimum requirement.
