JOB DESCRIPTION:


This position manages the day to day activities of the 
manufacturing engineering team in our parts manufacturing center.  
The responsibility of the Manufacturing Engineering Manager is to 
provide the leadership, experience and guidance required to drive 
our manufacturing process and production methods required to 
deliver high-quality, best-in-class crane products.  She/he will 
have the responsibility of creating/modifying the SOP for the 
manufacturing process including all routings and work instructions 
used by our manufacturing team.  They will work closely with the 
production and scheduling teams to assist with production 
bottlenecks.  The position also requires working with other 
internal departments (purchasing, customer service, design 
engineering etc.) to gather and pass along information that helps 
our production team meet or exceed our customer needs and 
expectations. 

 
Main Responsibilities:

Manages engineering staff members on project components to maintain 
timelines, project initiatives, and cost structures. Delegates 
project workloads and allocate resources to accomplish desired 
results.
Supervises product, process, plant, manufacturing, and engineering 
projects with the goal to improve process capabilities, drive down 
cost, and improve ease of manufacturing.
Manages the program creation for all CNC machines used in our 
facility ensuring availability of programs in a timely manner
Participates in production decisions involving new and existing 
products to assess/improve equipment & capacity.
Establishes and maintains an environment conducive to continuous 
improvement in manufacturing.
Directly assist all departments with improving Safety, 
Environmental, Quality, Productivity and Delivery. This can be 
accomplished through many means, such as; capacity improvements, 
capital expenditures, complexity reductions, lean improvements, 
equipment maintenance improvements, design improvements, etc.
Manages the qualification of new components, processes and 
manufacturing equipment that is incorporated into production.
Understanding of SAP and developing more efficient ways to input 
and extract data
Develop and report KPI’s for the Manufacturing Engineering team
Other duties as assigned
 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

8 years of relevant work experience, degree preferred
Strong knowledge of 3, 4, and 5 axis machining, welding, manual and 
CNC lathes, and CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers
