JOB DESCRIPTION:


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This is not intended as a comprehensive list; it

Manage the development, implementation, and operation of all technical activities of 
Rancho.
Direct the technical solutions of facility with a focus on disciplined improvement of 
manufacturing operations and cost reduction.
Provide Technical solutions to improve the Forge department and reduce costs.
Implement disciplined strategies for these initiatives to include but not limited to 
Statistical Process control and Six-Sigma.
Drive the continual expansion of process measurement systems within the location. All 
major process areas, deformation, modeling, thermal, metallurgy and tooling will have 
an internal champion assigned and monitored. This position is responsible to the Plant 
Manager and Corporate staff for measurable progress in these areas.
Lead manufacturing cost reductions efforts for targeted programs through directed 
managerial assignment.
Convert progress on these programs to financial terms to match progress to company 
objectives.
Provide the general manager and staff with defined financial objectives for technical 
manufacturing improvement.
Supervise the Quality/Metallurgy, Tool Engineering and Process Engineering groups 
through their respective managers or individual performers to support company 
objectives.
Coordinate the request and support of location technical issues with group resources. 
Maintain contact with company functional experts call upon as needed.
Serve as the Staff level technical representative to the General Manager supporting 
location goals.
Product Compliance
Review and approve all new processes or process changes prior to production release.
Through direct reports coordinate the elimination of quality faults both internal and 
at customer.
Develop a process engineering focus at Rancho that continues to drive technical 
improvement.
Recruit and train process engineers to work floor positions monitoring and improving 
all direct manufacturing operations.
Coordinate the design and modeling efforts with a goal of exceeding competitors’ 
capabilities.
With Rancho operations manager develop and implement capital investment projects to 
improve process capability, health safety and environmental compliance.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises employees in the Technical department. Carries out supervisory 
responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. 
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, 
assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining 
employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry or related 
field, from an accredited institution.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in engineering is required. 
Demonstrated Performance in the implementation of SPC, Lean Manufacturing, and 
Continuous Improvement Methodologies.
Demonstrated Performance in the Implementation and maintenance of ISO/NADCAP Standards.
Proven Leader with a track record of realized cost reductions and Quality Improvement 
initiatives.
COMPUTER SKILLS

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Familiar with ERP systems


Qualifications
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

field, from an accredited institution.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in engineering is required. 
Demonstrated Performance in the implementation of SPC, Lean Manufacturing, and 
Continuous Improvement Methodologies.
Demonstrated Performance in the Implementation and maintenance of ISO/NADCAP Standards.
Proven Leader with a track record of realized cost reductions and Quality Improvement 
initiatives.
This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which
