 Position Brand Description: 

This individual will work directly with the Manufacturing & Quality organization and the 
company's Manufacturing Finance to help analyze and understand the financial performance 
around actual vs. forecast & business plan. This person is the owner of the financial 
consolidations of the company's Branchburg scorecard, receiving inputs from other team 
members’ controllerships, while managing his/her own controllerships for forecasts, 
business plan, and strategic plan. This individual will also handle all Local Capital and 
Fixed Assets on Branchburg’s site. He or she must have strong communication skills and be 
a team player, while being able to work independently. The individual must have robust 
analytical skills and the ability to communicate succinctly and effectively with the 
Branchburg FP&A team, the finance organization in Indianapolis, and non-finance managers 
in Branchburg.

Responsibilities:

This role is accountable for financial reporting and planning for the total Branchburg 
site scorecard. This includes preparing management reporting for the Site Leadership Team, 
the company's Manufacturing Finance, and the local Site Finance leader and leading the 
FP&A team through forecasts, business plan, and strategic plan. He or she must be able to 
effectively communicate the drivers behind the reporting variances and prepare 
presentations and reports that clearly explain the financial performance/financial plan to 
all key stakeholders involved. He or she will be working closely with others on the team 
to be able to consolidate all finance/accounting related items at Branchburg.

Responsible for the financial support for all departments at the manufacturing site: (30+ 
cost centers). This includes partnering with the Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, 
Facilities, and Global Services organizations to lead and develop forecasts and business 
plan for these departments and analyze the actual results to understand the variances. 
With this, he or she should be able to provide updated forecasts based on trends and 
analysis. It is critical that he or she can effectively communicate variances, analysis, 
and updated forecasts to the Finance & Accounting organization and department leaders.

Owner of Local Capital financial processes: Annually, Branchburg has new local projects 
that are spread across approximately 50-100 projects. He or she will be the primary owner 
of all capital investment requests and ensure all the proper documentation has been 
included (Business Case, Estimate Summary, Corporate Investment Decision Model) and that 
the proper signatures and ATS are obtained. He or she will also work with the Local 
Engineering Team and the company's Corporate Capital Team to provide quarterly forecasts 
and monthly reporting around the actual spend vs. business plan, which includes providing 
insight around the drivers behind the variances. Additionally, this role is responsible 
for making sure capital projects are closed out in a timely manner to ensure our site 
recognizes appropriate timing for the depreciation of the assets that will placed in 
service. Additionally, he or she will be responsible for any Capital Audits that take 
place from either internal or external sources.

Accountable for all of Branchburg’s fixed assets on site: In coordination with Local 
Capital, this role is responsible for maintaining an accurate record of the site’s fixed 
assets, continuously adding new assets (through the Cap Form) and removing assets 
throughout the year (through the NVC Form). In order to do this, he or she will need to be 
in constant communication with the engineering, facilities, and manufacturing departments 
to ensure appropriate action takes place for assets that are new, being removed, being 
moved to a different building/location, etc. Additionally, he or she will be responsible 
for the Annual Fixed Asset Inventory that involves the evaluation of hundreds of local 
assets.

Beyond the financial reporting and planning, he or she will be the central point of 
contact for the financial reporting systems. Because this role handles the consolidations 
of the reporting and planning of the entire scorecard, he or she will maintain hierarchies 
for local cost centers & cost elements and coordinate the inputting of data for business 
plan & verify the accuracy and completeness of the data entry.

Due to this role being responsible for all financial consolidation activity, he or she 
will need to partner with the Assoc. VP of HR to diligently plan, report, and analyze the 
Compensation & Benefits expense at Branchburg. This involves planning Branchburg’s C&B 
during the Business Plan/Strategic Plan seasons, while providing forecasts and reasons for 
variances throughout each year.

This role is responsible for any ad-hoc requested analysis driven by the Assoc. VP of FP&A 
and/or  site department managers and internal/external auditors. Additionally, this role 
is responsible for any month-end closing financial or accounting items not explicitly 
mentioned above for the departments he or she controls financially.

Basic Requirements: 

2 to 5 years of FP&A experience
Bachelor of Science degree
Additional Preferences: 

2 to 5 years of Pharmaceutical or Biotech experience
Experience with SAP for Analysis/Planning
