Responsibilities include:

prepare design plans for traffic control devices (including traffic signals, signing & 
pavement markings, temporary traffic control, Lighting and ITS)
prepare medium and large-scale multi-modal transportation design projects
perform traffic analysis, signal timing optimization, field traffic studies
perform analysis of traffic patterns and trends
prepare technical reports and memos
perform field observations of traffic condition and provide recommendations
A valid driver’s license and some travel will be required. 

Qualifications
The successful candidate will have all of the following:

a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in civil engineering or electrical engineering or related 
field from an accredited school;
at least two (2) years of relevant work experience 
The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following:

an EIT certification in any state with ability to obtain a PE license in the District of 
Columbia within two year of start date
using AutoCAD or MicroStation to prepare traffic control device design plans including, 
but not limited to traffic signals, roadway lighting, Maintenance of Traffic/Temporary 
Traffic Control, signing & pavement markings, and ITS devices.
familiarity or experience using Synchro or VISSIM for operational traffic analysis.
experience with transportation engineering projects including design of traffic control 
devices or corridor projects, development or review of Engineer’s estimates, 
specifications, and coordination with internal and external clients.
