JOB DESCRIPTION:

You must be a Licensed Professional Engineer.

Essential Duties

1.      Stress / Strain design calculations based on standard / proven engineering 
design methods

2.      Develop special design methods when standard published methods not available

3.      Review job specifications and purchase order requirements. Develop product 
fabrication drawings and test instructions that are used for both Customer and Shop 
Fabrication

4.      Customer contact during the Design, Fabrication and Testing Phases

5.      Complete and file final job record documents


Professional Engineering Work:

1.      Review and Stamp Laboratory Test Procedures

2.      Develop and Stamp Product Designs referencing the ASME RTP-1 Standard and ASCE 
Wind / Seismic Standard


Quality Control:

1.      Maintain company's approved RTP-1 Quality Control Program

2.      Support company’s inspector – 2nd opinions

3.      Reconcile production issues as to whether a repair or non-conformity report is 
required

4.      Serve as a second check on dimensional fit-ups



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Proficient with Microsoft Office
Working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D or 3D
MathCad or equivalent
Adobe experienced required
Finite element analysis experience a plus
Tensile testing equipment required
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
A positive attitude, be self directed, team player and have focus on quality and 
integrity
Experience in the composite industry a plus
Education:

Bachelor's of Science or Technology in Mechanical Engineering (Required)
License:

·        Professional Engineer (P.E.) Required
