Chief Compliance Officer (CCO)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly respected Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) to lead 
and oversee all corporate compliance, security, and regulatory programs. This executive 
will be responsible for ensuring the company's operations, products, facilities, 
employees, and supply chain fully comply with all applicable U.S. government regulations, 
including NDAA, ITAR, CMMC, and other federal defense contracting requirements.

The ideal candidate is a retired senior U.S. military officer (O-6 Colonel/Navy Captain or 
above, or General/Flag Officer) or a former senior commander from the NYPD, Texas 
Department of Public Safety, or another major federal, state, or local law enforcement 
agency with extensive experience in security, defense operations, risk management, 
government compliance, and leadership.

This position serves as a strategic advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team while 
establishing a culture of compliance, integrity, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and oversee the company's enterprise-wide compliance and corporate 
security programs.
Ensure full compliance with:
National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA)
International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC)
Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)
NIST SP 800-171 cybersecurity requirements
U.S. Department of Defense security regulations
Lead the company's export control and technology protection program.
Establish internal policies and procedures governing classified, controlled, and export-
controlled technologies.
Oversee compliance with government contracts and defense procurement requirements.
Develop and manage corporate insider-threat, operational security (OPSEC), and physical 
security programs.
Conduct compliance audits, internal investigations, and risk assessments.
Ensure company personnel receive required security, ethics, cybersecurity, and compliance 
training.
Coordinate with U.S. government agencies, prime contractors, legal counsel, and regulatory 
authorities regarding compliance matters.
Oversee compliance documentation and maintain audit readiness.
Advise executive leadership regarding regulatory changes affecting defense, robotics, AI 
technologies, and autonomous systems.
Support customer due diligence, government audits, and supplier compliance reviews.
Establish corporate governance standards that promote ethical conduct and regulatory 
compliance.
Develop contingency and incident response procedures for compliance-related events.
Serve as the company's primary executive responsible for compliance certifications and 
regulatory reporting.
Required Qualifications
U.S. Citizen.
Eligible to obtain or maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance; an active clearance 
is strongly preferred.
Retired senior U.S. military officer (Colonel/Captain or above) OR
Former senior federal, state, or local law enforcement commander (such as NYPD, Texas DPS, 
FBI, DHS, Secret Service, or similar organization).
Minimum 15 years of progressively responsible leadership experience.
Demonstrated experience with U.S. government compliance programs.
Strong knowledge of:
NDAA
ITAR
CMMC
DFARS
FAR
NIST SP 800-171
Export controls
Government contracting
Experience establishing enterprise compliance programs.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work directly with executive leadership, government agencies, and defense 
contractors.
Strong analytical and risk management capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting U.S. Department of Defense acquisition programs.
Experience with defense robotics, autonomous systems, aerospace, AI technologies, or 
unmanned systems.
Prior responsibility for classified programs or Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
Experience working with defense contractors or technology companies supporting national 
security.
Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP), Certified Information Systems Security 
Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or similar 
professional certification.
Juris Doctor (JD), Master's degree, or advanced military education is a plus.
