Senior Business Development Manager - Military/DOD

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Business Development Manager to 
lead strategic business growth initiatives for an innovative AI robotics company 
specializing in autonomous robotic systems for defense, public safety, industrial 
security, and commercial applications.
The successful candidate will leverage an established professional network within 
government agencies, defense contractors, law enforcement organizations, public safety 
departments, and commercial enterprises to identify new business opportunities, develop 
strategic partnerships, and secure contracts. This individual will play a critical role in 
expanding the company's market presence and accelerating revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
•	Develop and execute strategic business development plans to achieve company sales 
and revenue objectives.
•	Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities within federal, state, 
local government, defense, homeland security, law enforcement, public safety, industrial, 
and commercial markets.
•	Utilize an established network of industry contacts and decision-makers to 
generate qualified opportunities and facilitate contract awards.
•	Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, prime 
contractors, system integrators, distributors, strategic partners, and commercial 
customers.
•	Lead customer engagement activities, including executive presentations, product 
demonstrations, capability briefings, and proposal strategy discussions.
•	Identify and respond to RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, and other procurement opportunities.
•	Coordinate with executive leadership, engineering, marketing, and technical teams 
to develop competitive proposals and winning business strategies.
•	Negotiate business agreements, teaming arrangements, pricing strategies, and 
customer contracts.
•	Represent the company at industry conferences, defense exhibitions, trade shows, 
and networking events.
•	Monitor industry trends, government procurement activities, competitor 
developments, and emerging market opportunities.
•	Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and provide regular business forecasts and 
management reports.
•	Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful customer onboarding and long-
term account growth.
Qualifications
•	Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Marketing, or a related 
discipline. MBA is preferred.
•	Minimum 7–10 years of successful business development or strategic sales 
experience in defense, robotics, aerospace, security technology, government contracting, 
or related industries.
•	Demonstrated experience securing government and commercial contracts.
•	Existing network of senior decision-makers within defense agencies, law 
enforcement organizations, public safety departments, government procurement offices, 
defense contractors, or industrial organizations.
•	Proven track record of consistently achieving or exceeding revenue and business 
development targets.
•	Strong understanding of U.S. government procurement processes, contract vehicles, 
and acquisition procedures.
•	Experience working with defense integrators, OEMs, system integrators, or 
technology partners is highly desirable.
•	Excellent negotiation, communication, presentation, and relationship management 
skills.
•	Strong strategic thinking and the ability to develop long-term growth initiatives.
•	Self-motivated with excellent organizational and project management abilities.
•	Ability to travel domestically as required.
Preferred Qualifications
•	Experience selling robotics, AI solutions, autonomous systems, unmanned systems, 
defense technologies, surveillance solutions, or advanced security products.
•	Experience with Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Homeland Security 
(DHS), law enforcement, emergency response agencies, or critical infrastructure customers.
•	Knowledge of government contracting vehicles including GSA Schedule, IDIQ, OTA, 
and related procurement programs.
•	Active government security clearance is a plus.
