YOUR ROLE 1. Within a team environment, will be a change agent capable of influencing and enabling others to apply correct quality tool(s) and problem-solving techniques for the situation 2. Act as Engineering Team Facilitator when assigned. 3. Lead continuous improvement projects requiring members spanning across multiple functions, both internal and external to the plant 4. Complete 8D process and reports to troubleshoot and resolve customer complaints, internal product/process failures, equipment malfunctions and other plant support issues 5. Resolve issues using advanced statistical analysis and problem solving techniques 6. Design and coordinate change management activities (PWP, FWP and Implementation) 7. Design and coordinate experiments 8. Direct complaint resolutions for key customer accounts and critical complaints (line down and high dollar/high risk complaints) 9. Develop intimate knowledge of manufacturing and quality equipment, processes, and technology 10. Direct critical internal product and process problem resolutions 11. Mentor/train engineers and technicians 12. Lead vendor, customer, internal and certification audits, both on-site and off-site 13. Lead mediation discussions to build inter-department consensus to resolve issues 14. Coordinate and complete self-directed projects a. Safety Improvement b. Cost Reduction c. Efficiency/Productivity Improvement d. Quality Improvement e. New Equipment/New Process Technology Implementation 15. Develop formal reports for disciplined root cause and corrective action 16. Improve business systems to reduce conflict and ambiguity 17. Sanitize reports for external consumption to key accounts 18. Coordinate and update documentation such as manufacturing, equipment, test method and other instructions 19. Coordinate plant activities between functions to facilitate shipment of samples and problem products 20. Direct new product transfers into plant by coordinating all aspects of manufacturing validation with product development terms. 21. Characterize and validate raw material and product changes 22. Perform and participate in risk assessments (HAZOP, JSA, MOC, etc.) 23. Present metrics and reports to management and external customers 24. Initiate, develop and execute projects developed from own ideas (with management approval YOUR SKILLS • BS Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred (Electrical or Industrial Engineers will be considered) • Minimum 5-10+ years of engineering experience in Project Management, Process Engineering, Quality Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering in semiconductor packaging or chemical processing; or equivalent combination of education and experience • Mixing, coating, converting and punch press experience. • Certified Quality Engineer by American Society of Quality preferred • Six Sigma Green belt certification; Black belt preferred • Practiced and Trained in Lean Principles • Leadership training and/or experience leading projects and small groups of professionals • Up-to-date in his/her field via literature, technical meetings and professional organization memberships • Background in statistics and quality tools preferred. Familiarity with SPC principles and application to batch processes. Competent in problem solving techniques such as DOE, SPC, FMEA, PPAP, MCA, etc.
